Coverage transparency

What CivicSignal currently monitors

Seattle, Washington is CivicSignal's current launch coverage area. We monitor only configured, reviewed official public RSS, Atom, iCalendar, official-calendar, and official Legistar record sources, not every Seattle agency, meeting, or public record.

Seattle launch coverage

The reviewed launch registry currently includes Seattle City Council news releases and updates, a selected Seattle City Council meeting calendar with its linked agenda materials when published, recently modified Seattle City Council Legistar proposal records with documented actions and published attachments, and the official Seattle City Council elected-member directory with listed roles, contacts, and biography links. It also includes selected Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle Department of Construction & Inspections, and Office of Planning & Community Development updates. Seattle is the only publicly disclosed configured city at this time; each listed source links to its original official record, and unlisted agencies, records, and cities are outside current coverage.

Meeting coverage is limited to the selected official City Council calendar and the agenda or material links it publishes at retrieval time. It is not comprehensive monitoring of every Seattle meeting, agenda, hearing, notice, public comment opportunity, or public record. The other configured sources are update feeds, not comprehensive permit or inspection records, hearings, agenda packets, public notices, or real-time Seattle monitoring.

Seattle proposal tracking is limited to the recently modified City Council matters exposed through the reviewed official Legistar endpoint. It shows the documented status, responsible body, available key dates, published attachments, and action history returned by that source. It does not establish complete citywide legislative coverage, verify every amendment or hearing attachment, or infer vote support, opposition, or totals when they are not fully published in the record.

Official profiles are limited to the current Seattle City Council elected-member directory and safely matched, explicitly identified Legistar sponsorship records within the tracked proposal set. CivicSignal does not cover candidates, party affiliation, endorsements, campaign claims, scorecards, promise-versus-performance conclusions, inferred views, or AI-generated political analysis in this launch slice. Individual action history remains empty unless an official source records an individual action with its wording and date.

Source-first by design

Live items retain the original public-record link, agency, format, and retrieval date so readers can verify the source directly.

No assumed coverage

If a location or Seattle agency has no configured official source, CivicSignal says so rather than filling the gap with simulated reporting.

How a location becomes covered

  1. An official agency source and its jurisdiction are reviewed for clarity and public authority.
  2. A stable, fixed RSS, Atom, iCalendar, official calendar, or official Legistar endpoint is validated before it is added to the registry.
  3. Only then can an owner or administrator enable it and run the authenticated official-source refresh.

CivicSignal does not fetch arbitrary public URLs or accept anonymous refresh requests.
